This Privacy Policy describes how tingzhe li ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use QR Scan Planet, our free Android mobile application for scanning and creating QR codes and barcodes (the "App" or "Services").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

We do not require registration. If you contact us by email or send feedback, we receive the information you choose to provide (such as your email address and message content).

1.2 Information processed on your device

The App processes the following data locally on your device:

• QR code and barcode content you scan or create (which may include URLs, Wi‑Fi credentials, phone numbers, SMS payloads, email addresses, calendar events, or vCard contact fields)
• Scan history and app preferences (e.g., theme, sound, search engine)
• Images you select from your gallery for decoding
• Camera preview frames for real-time scanning (processed on-device; not sent to our servers)

This content is stored only in the App’s local database on your device. We do not transmit scan content to our servers. If you tap actions such as Share, Call, Send SMS, or Add to contacts, the information you choose to act on is passed only to the system app or third-party app you select (for example, your phone dialer, messaging app, or a share target). Nothing is sent to us unless you voluntarily include it in a support email.

1.3 Device permissions

• Camera — scan codes in real time
• Photos / media — decode codes from gallery images
• Notifications — optional push messages about app updates or features (Android 13+)
• Internet — load ads, open external links, and receive push messages

You can change permissions anytime in your device settings.

1.4 Information collected by third-party services

We use third-party SDKs that may automatically collect limited technical and advertising-related data, such as:

• Device type, operating system version, language, and app version
• Advertising ID (GAID) and IP address (for ad delivery and measurement)
• Push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
• Diagnostic and performance data related to ads or messaging services

Third parties we use include:

• Google AdMob — banner advertisements (Google Privacy Policy)
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications (Firebase Privacy)

We do not use Google Sign-In or other Google APIs that access your Google account data. We do not collect precise geolocation from your device.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide scanning, code generation, history, and app settings
• Display non-intrusive banner ads in the history section
• Send optional push notifications you can disable in system settings
• Respond to support requests and improve app stability
• Comply with applicable laws

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with:

• Service providers (Google AdMob, Firebase) operating under their own privacy policies
• Legal authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety
• Business transfers if our app or assets are acquired (you would be notified as required by law)

Scan content and local history are not shared with us unless you voluntarily send them to us (e.g., in a support email).

4. Data Retention

• On-device data — kept until you clear app data or uninstall the App
• Support emails — kept as long as needed to handle your request
• Third-party SDK data — retained according to Google’s policies; you can reset your advertising ID in Android settings

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the data we process. Because most scan data stays on your device, you control it through your device security settings. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us information.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
